Silicon nitride integrated photonic chips are at the heart of developments in diagnostic testing, wireless communications and medical imaging. By integrating functions into solid state chips, we offer improvements in processing speed, information density, operational performance, flexibility and cost. In this presentation we give an overview of the benefits of photonic integration and highlight the specific value of silicon nitride as a waveguide material for a broad range of applications.
Douwe Geuzebroek is VP Marketing & Sales at LioniX International. He is involved in the acquisition of new commercial and research projects for photonic integrated modules in life science, metrology, and telecommunication applications. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Twente, on Integrated Photonics, a on a topic of applying integrated optical micro-ring resonators in telecommunication networks. He has more than 15 years of experience in integrated photonics and its applications, ranging from R&D to product development stages. He has a strong interest in matching the technical aspect of a technology to the needs of the market.
